Why Iceland?
Iceland holds a special place in our hearts—it’s where we got engaged! We both love to travel, and when it came time to choose a wedding destination, we knew we wanted to share one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever been with the people we love most. Iceland’s stunning landscapes, from waterfalls to glaciers, left us in awe, and we hope it will do the same for our guests. Plus, what better excuse to take an unforgettable trip? We hope you’ll leave with lasting memories of a place that means so much to us!

What is the dress code?
Our dress code is festive formal—think elegant attire with a fun, celebratory touch. For men, this means suits or dressy separates, and for women, cocktail dresses, long dresses, or chic jumpsuits are perfect. Feel free to add a pop of color or a bit of flair to match the joyful occasion!
The ceremony will be outdoors, so we recommend skipping pointy heels in favor of block heels, wedges, or flats.

How do I get from the airport to Reykjavík?
There are two main bus options from Keflavík Airport (KEF) to Reykjavík:
Flybus departs about 35–45 minutes after each flight arrival. It takes ~45 minutes to reach the BSÍ terminal. One-way tickets are ~$30 USD
Strætó Public Bus (Route 55) also travels between KEF and Reykjavík. One-way fare is ~20 USD (youth/seniors: 1,200 ISK; children under 11 ride free).
-
Is there Uber in Iceland?
No, Uber does not operate in Iceland. We recommend downloading the Hreyfill taxi app for local rides in Reykjavík or the Klapp app to buy tickets and use the public bus system easily.
-
Can I drive to the welcome party at Sky Lagoon?
If you plan to drink, please do not drive. Iceland has a strict legal blood alcohol content (BAC) limit of 0.02%. Please take a taxi or bus instead.
-
Where should I buy alcohol or groceries?
Alcohol is much cheaper at the duty-free store in Keflavík Airport (after landing). It's a great option if you’d like drinks for the days leading up to the wedding. Bónus and Krónan are the most affordable grocery stores in Reykjavík. They’re perfect for picking up snacks, drinks, or anything else you might need.
-
Is the tap water safe to drink?
Yes! Iceland’s tap water is clean, fresh, and safe. Bring a reusable bottle to stay hydrated.
-
Why does the hot water smell like sulfur?
Don’t worry—this is totally normal. The smell comes from Iceland’s natural geothermal system. It’s harmless, and the cold water does not have this smell.
-
Do I need a power adapter?
Yes. Iceland uses Type F outlets (230V). Make sure to pack an adapter if needed.
-
Will there be daylight late into the evening?
Yes! In July, Iceland experiences very long daylight hours, often past 11 pm. If you're sensitive to light while sleeping, we recommend bringing a sleep mask.
-
What should I pack for the weather?
Icelandic weather is known to change quickly. We recommend bringing layers, a waterproof jacket, and sturdy shoes for comfort and flexibility.
-
Are children allowed?
We love your little ones, but due to venue limitations, we can only accommodate children in our immediate family. We hope you can enjoy this special trip as a fun getaway!
